Fiddler at 50: A Musical "Tradition"

$10 | $5 SJCC members, seniors, students, youth

If you think you know “Fiddler on the Roof,” think again. Journalist, scholar, and author Alisa Solomon discusses her book “Wonder of Wonders,” which explores the making of “Fiddler on the Roof” and its global impact: how Tevye – the creation of the writer Sholom Aleichem – was reborn as a blockbuster entertainment. Solomon tells how the musical spoke to audiences of the deepest conflicts and desires of its time, the fraying of tradition, and the loss of roots.
