Opening night of the November Art Walk, “POETIC MOON” will feature new works by Agnes Lee. Agnes is the recent Ballot winner and also winner of Honorable Mention for Favorite Artist in the Women Painters of Washington exhibition “The Language of Blue” at the Seattle Columbia Center.
The paintings Agnes has created for the premiere of “POETIC MOON” are her tribute to the 50th anniversary of mans landing on the Moon and the symbolism of the Moon in the Chinese culture. Family reunions, Harvest celebrations, Prosperity and the Symbolism of of Round shapes as Reunited pieces. Thoughtful poetry, elegant calligraphy and a range of subtle to bold colors appear on canvas.
Each painting has a poem, in calligraphic form, embedded in the artwork creating even more powerful symbolism in each piece. Agnes hand writes a translation of the poem on the back of each canvas.
